Are Laptops and Computers replacing Textbooks?

For generations, universities and schools were associated with books. That is still the case today, but are computers having more of an effect? We feel yes. There is no doubt that laptops are good resources, the internet is essentially the world’s biggest library with no end of resources. But for many students especially those in school, it can cause problems, because it can be easy to find irrelevant and distracting information.

Laptops are used in classes and there are school security blocks, but that it still gives students the opportunity to lose concentration. Books will always provide students with more focus, because they are limited to one subject, for each book.

Traditional textbooks can however, go out within a year, or even months. And it can make financial sense to use computers in classrooms, but it is an ongoing debate. Some education initiation will differ in their approach, but either way, there’s no denying the increase in laptops and computers for classrooms.
